The grandson of the founders of the Cumberland Gulf Group has been named company CEO, the Framingham-based firm announced Friday.
The parent company of Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil LP has picked Ari Haseotes for its top role. He will replace Lily Bentas, who has served as interim CEO since Joseph Petrowski’s departure in October 2013.
“Ari has worked for years at all levels of the company, contributing in significant ways to the continued growth and success of our iconic brands,” said Bentas, who is also chairman of the board. “He is perfectly positioned to lead both businesses and continue the tradition of superior customer service, innovation and commitment to excellence.”
Haseotes joined Cumberland Farms’ marketing department in 2003 and was promoted to a vice presidential post in 2005 and a presidential role in 2008. He became president and chief operating officer of Cumberland Gulf in 2013.
Haseotes holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Boston College and a master’s in business administration from Harvard.
Vasilios and Aphrodite Haseotes, Ari’s grandparents, founded the company in 1938.
