A new restaurant will rely heavily on the culinary and food industry expertise of one of the Central Massachusetts’ most popular bakeries.
Reunion Tap and Table hopes to open on Worcester Street in North Grafton by June, according to co-owner Shawn Briggs.
Briggs, also co-founder of Wicked Twisted Pretzels, a North Grafton wholesale manufacturer of pretzels and dipping sauces, will open the restaurant with Sargon Hanna, who owns the land and the company’s bakery down the street.
The restaurant is a different business venture and isn’t a Wicked Twisted Pretzel-branded restaurant, but the cuisine will definitely feature Briggs’ famous pretzels, which are currently consumed in hundreds of breweries across the country and in other retail settings.
“Pretzels will always be on the menu,” Briggs said.
Possible dishes would include pretzel poutine and pretzel nachos. If you just want a pretzel, that shouldn’t be a problem, Briggs said.
Aside from pretzels, Briggs said the restaurant will focus on “elevated American fare, but done very well.”
The restaurant also hopes to offer a vibrant craft beer selection, Hanna said.
Hanna has owned the building for three years and had town approvals for a restaurant since then, but plans for a restaurant were never followed through.
That’s when he enlisted the help of Briggs’s culinary expertise.
“It’s a perfect marriage in that sense,” Hanna said.
The duo has hired a management staff with years of experience in the Boston restaurant scene. Now, the restaurant is just waiting for final inspections and furniture.
“It’ll bring a city edge to a small town like Grafton,” Hanna said.
