Grafton nonprofit names new executive director

The board of directors for the Community Harvest Project of North Grafton has hired Cordelia Lyon as the organization’s new executive director.

Lyon will head up the North Grafton nonprofit that provides healthy, farm-grown food to local food banks and educates area residents and students about healthy eating. Lyon has experience working with similar organizations as well as working in management and communications. She most recently worked at Land’s Sake, a nonprofit farm in Weston, but has previous experience at Barefoot Books and Harvard University.

Each year the Community Harvest Project provides over 1 million servings of fresh produce. In 2014, the organization clocked 11,000 volunteer visits and grew 270,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables that were donated to local food banks.
