Worcester medical marijuana dispensary Good Chemistry is seeking the city’s first recreational cannabis retail license.
The Colorado-headquartered company will appear before the License Commission on Thursday, less than a week after getting provisional approval from the state Cannabis Control Commission to sell recreational marijuana.
The company still needs final approval from the state’s cannabis regulators, and its products must be tested by an independent lab to ensure safety.
Good Chemistry, open on Harrison Street since August, was given a special permit from the Planning Board for recreational sales later that month. It signed a host community agreement with the city for recreational sales earlier this year.
CEO Matthew Huron previously told WBJ that the company doesn’t expect to begin recreational sales until the end of 2018 or early 2019.
