Go Ahead And Google

Using your office computer to check your personal e-mail, or watch that funny kitten video on YouTube, may not get you into trouble after all, according to a new survey.

According to a new survey by The Creative Group, 57 percent of advertising and marketing executives said it's OK for employees to visit sites that aren't related to work. On average, they said the maximum time workers should spend on non-productive web surfing was 32 minutes.

The Creative Group, a staffing agency for advertising and marketing professions, said companies may believe that going off-task for a little while can help employees keep up with trends and find sources of inspiration. It also said bosses may prefer that workers take care of personal tasks online so they don't have to step out of the office.
