Victoria Waterman, the CEO of nonprofit Girls Inc. of Worcester is stepping down at the end of June after 11 years in the role.
The board of directors has put together the executive search committee for her successor, according to a Wednesday announcement from the nonprofit.
Waterman has been CEO of the Worcester nonprofit since 2012, before which she was president of the board of directors. She is departing the position in a decision to semi-retire, according to the announcement.
While CEO at Girls Inc., Waterman led a $5-million, five-year capital campaign that improved the nonprofit’s facilities and allowed 60 girls to still receive daily programming throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
“She has worked diligently to improve operational and organizational processes and has been a visionary leader influencing significant growth within the organization,” Pam Daly, Girls Inc. board of directors president, wrote in the announcement.
Girls Inc.’s mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, and provides programming to equip girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers. The nonprofit had $2.1 million in revenue and $12.5 million in assets in 2020, according to its most recently available tax filings available on Guidestar.
Waterman will officially leave the role on June 30.
