You might need some as the Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts announced Tuesday the planned launch of its 2020 cookie season, when girl scouts nationwide become entrepreneurs as they earn money to power their own leadership opportunities and adventures.

The campaign is the nonprofit’s major fundraising effort. For the Central & Western Massachusetts council, CEO Pattie Hallberg said 60% of its revenue comes from this cookie-selling season. Nationally, the figure is 70%.
This cookie-selling season features a new crispy lemon cookie called Lemon-Ups. The new cookie joins past favorites including Thin Mints, Samoas, and Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs, S’mores and the gluten-free Toffee-tastic.
The cookie boxes feature refreshed packaging to reflect the experiences the cookie earnings make possible for girls, with eight messages like, “I am a go-getter” and “I am an innovator” meant to bringing the experience to life.
Girl Scout cookie booth sales in Central Massachusetts kick off on Friday, Jan. 17 and continue through March 8.
