GFA Credit Union receives $150K to help low income homebuyers

The GFA Federal Credit Union has received a $150,000 grant that will allow it to assist low and moderate income home buyers.

The grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston Equity Builder Program will provide eligible homebuyers with up to $15,000 in down payment assistance and closing cost funds, according to a release. In addition, GFA will provide each program participant with an additional $350 off closing costs. These funds are available on a first come first served basis, according to the GFA.

To qualify as a participant in the Equity Builder Program, eligible homeowners are required to meet specific income criteria determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
