The Sartorius Group has announced that it will create 100 jobs in Marlborough when it launches its new North American Customer Interaction Center.
The German life sciences company, which has a location in Cambridge, manufactures laboratory instruments and consumables. Sartorius Group announced Thursday that it will expand its presence in Massachusetts with a 40,000-square-foot location in Marlborough at 150 Locke Drive.
The first units of the new center will be open in early 2021, according to a release from the company.
The new jobs will be engineering positions in process and mechanical design as well as in electrical and automation engineering. Additionally, Sartorius will be employing production technicians, customer service and support staff.
This is the first time Sartorius will be designing, building and delivering manufacturing solutions in North America for its North American customers, according to the release. It will also create capacity for the company to support its partners in the development and manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics.
