Genzyme Corp., the Cambridge-based biotechnology company with extensive operations in Central Massachusetts, has hired Ron Branning as senior vice president of global product quality.
Branning has worked in the bio/pharmaceutical industry on quality control and regulatory compliance for more than 30 years. Most recently, he led quality and compliance functions at Gilead Sciences. He has also held senior positions in quality at Genentech, Aventis Behring and Somatogen.
In his new position, Branning will report to Genzyme executive vice president David Meeker.
