Generex Biotechnology Corp., the Toronto parent company of Worcester-based Antigen Express Inc., has responded to the unusually high volume of trading of its shares on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Traded on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board as GNBT, the shares involved were not held by anyone directly associated with the company, such as current executives, employees or insiders, Generex said in a statement.
The company said its management "is not aware of any company developments that might tend to precipitate the unusual and sudden trading activity seen over the last two days."
Generex, which researches, develops and commercializes drug delivery technologies, plans to address stockholders on the status of initiatives it and Antigen have in the pipeline next week, however it noted that it does not have "any obligation in the future to address in public announcements (or otherwise) unusual patterns of trading in its common stock or unusual prices or price swings thereof."
