GE Healthcare's U.S. pharmaceutical diagnostics team, which has its headquarters in Marlborough, announced Thursday it will add 70 employees, split between its Marlborough office and its facilities elsewhere.
The announcement was made in a release detailing GE Healthcare’s acquisition of Zionexa, which is based in Aubière, France. The company’s products are aimed at enabling more precise diagnosis, improved treatment decision-making and ultimately better clinical outcomes for patients with breast cancer, according to a release.
All 24 of Zionexa’s U.S. and French employees will transfer to GE Healthcare.
The financial terms of the acquisition of the private firm were not disclosed.
Of the 70 new employees GE Healthcare is looking to add, about 12 will be in Marlborough while the bulk will be in France, said GE Healthcare spokeswoman Jennifer Fox.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly said all 70 jobs added by GE Healthcare will be in Marlborough. The bulk of those new jobs will be in France, while about 12 will be in Marlborough.
