Officials with Worcester Polytechnic Institute have signed an agreement that will install a half-million dollars worth of new biomanufacturing equipment in the newest building at Gateway Park.
The equipment for the already-under construction Biomanufacturing Education and Training Center is being funded in part by a $250,000 grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center and will be supplied by New York-based Pall Corp. The state grant leverages a matching 50-percent price reduction on the new equipment from Pall Corp., according to a press release from the BETC.
The biomanufacturing pilot plant is being constructed in the second building in Gateway Park, which will be four stories tall and about 92,000 square feet.
