GateHouse Media, the parent company of several daily and weekly Massachusetts newspapers, is looking for a buyer for the current headquarters of the MetroWest Daily News.
The building at 33 New York Ave. in Framingham is 96,000 square feet -- far more space than the newspaper needs, said GateHouse regional vice president Peter Meyer. GateHouse moved its Framingham production operations to facilities in Auburn, Providence and Portsmouth, N.H. earlier this year, he said.
The Daily News will most likely remain in its current location until the building is sold, Meyer said. As of right now, the market value of the property is unclear.
In addition to the MetroWest Daily News, GateHouse also owns the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the Milford Daily News, and several weekly papers in Central Massachusetts.
