Kirk A. Davis, previously president and CEO of GateHouse Media New England, has been promoted to president and COO of parent company GateHouse Media Inc.
In his new role, Davis will oversee all of the company's 92 daily publications, more than 285 weekly publications and 260 local web sites.
Davis joined GateHouse in 2006 when the company acquired Enterprise NewsMedia. He has more than 20 years of experience in the newspaper industry, including at Thomson Newspapers, Ingersoll Publications and Community Newspaper Co.
Rick Daniels was promoted to replace Davis at GateHouse Media New England. He was previously COO of the New England division. Before joining the company in 2007, he held various positions at The Boston Globe and affiliated companies, including serving as president from 2001 to 2006.
