AAA Northeast reported Tuesday that average gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down 7 cents from last week.
AAA’s Sept. 8 survey of prices in Massachusetts found that self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.27 per gallon; it was $2.34 last week. The current price is 12 cents less than the national average for self-serve unleaded, AAA said.
Prices in Massachusetts are 25 cents less than a month ago. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $1.18 higher, at $3.45.
Current prices for other grades of gas are: midgrade unleaded, $2.57 a gallon; premium unleaded, $2.76; and diesel, $2.68.
