Rising for the second straight week after falling for months, gas prices are 9 cents higher per gallon than last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA said the jump, which brings the average price of regular, unleaded gasoline to $3.47 per gallon, is again thanks to the recent surge in oil prices.
The current price is 8 cents above the national average of $3.39. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average was 6.5 percent higher at $3.71.
The statewide range in prices unleaded regular is 34 cents, from$3.35 to $3.69.
The average price of diesel is $3.78, AAA said.
