After dropping for 11 weeks, gas prices in Massachusetts rose 2 cents in the past week, according to AAA Southern New England.
This week’s average price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.389.
“A recent surge in oil prices is paving the way for an uptick in gasoline prices. The good news is that the numbers are still down more than 50 cents from the peak reached in mid-April,” said Mary Maguire, director of public & legislative affairs at AAA.
The current price is the same as the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in the state was $3.67.
The current range in prices for unleaded regular is 26 cents, from a low of $3.29 to a high of $3.55. The average cost of diesel is $3.75.
