Gas prices in Massachusetts stayed flat over the busy July 4 week, with the average price of self-serve regular unleaded averaging $2.709 per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England.
A year ago, the average price was $2.59.
Over the previous two months, the price of gas declined steadily with the exception of one week.
