The average price of regular unleaded gasoline remained the same as last week at $2.95 per gallon, according to a report Monday from the travel association AAA Northeast.
“Despite the latest increase in demand, many motorists are not seeing significant pump price jumps due to increasing supply levels, which have significantly built over the last four weeks,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast director of public and government affairs, in a press release. “During this same period, the national gas price average has only increased 4 cents.”
This week’s prices are 4 cents higher than a month ago ($2.91) and 89 cents higher than this day a year ago ($2.06).
The June 21 survey by AAA Northeast said the current national average is $3.07 a gallon, 1 cent lower than last week ($3.08) and 95 cents higher than a year ago ($2.12). The average gas price in Massachusetts is 12 cents lower than the national average
