The average price of gasoline in Greater Worcester dropped almost 6 cents since a week prior, continuing a slide in prices begun early in February.
As of Tuesday, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Greater Worcester is $3.25, down from $3.40 one month ago, according to data from the travel association AAA.
Statewide, the average price is $3.30 and nationally $3.36.
“The cost for oil accounts for 55% of what we pay at the pump,” Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast vice president of public and government affairs, said in a Monday press release. “So higher or lower oil costs will play a major role in the price we pay when fueling up.”
