Gardner Gets $250K For Brownfields Site

The City of Gardner has received a total of $250,000 in grants to help cleanup and redevelop a former mill in the North Worcester County community.

Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray was on hand in Gardner today with officials from MassDevelopment to announce the funding. A $50,000 federal grant for the site was announced earlier this month.

Since then, the state and MassDevelopment have committed additional funds, totaling $250,000, to put together a plan to redevelop the former manufacturing site in the city’s Mill Street Corridor.
