Gardner company awarded $2.6 million defense contract

Precision Optics in Gardner
Precision Optics Corporation, Inc. of Gardner announced on Wednesday that it received a $2.6 million order from a United States defense contractor. The contract comes a month after the company announced it would begin trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market.
Precision Optics designs and manufactures optical instruments for medical and defense industries. On December 8, the company received an order of $750,000 for a next generation single-use urology program from a medical device company.
Precision Optics was founded in 1982 and provides micro-optics and 3D imaging technology to the healthcare and defense/aerospace industries. It started trading on the Nasdaq on November 16. The company reported $5.09 million in revenue for the quarter ending on September 30.
