The Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce has named a marketing and fundraising expert as its new president and CEO.
Templeton resident Carol Jacobson assumed the position July 9, replacing Jim Bellina, who left early last month due to a family illness.
According to Jacobson's LinkedIn profile, she’s spent time in the corporate and healthcare world, taking a variety of marketing and fundraising roles with Nypro, UMass Memorial Health Care, Mount Wachusett Community College and, most recently, the Reliant Foundation.
She also sits on several local boards and committees, including the United Way of North Central Massachusetts, the Chamber’s Women2Women Committee and the Gardner Rotary Club.
She’s also a member of the LUK, Inc. board of directors and on Alternatives North County Advisory Council.
“I am excited to be a part of furthering the chamber’s mission to advance the economic vibrancy of its members and our region,” Jacobson said in a press release. “I look forward to working closely with our members and the board to build upon the Chamber’s existing strengths, and spearhead innovation around new programs and services that encourage a broader base of membership and support.”
Her knowledge of the area and deep volunteer experience will be an asset to the business community, said the chamber Chairwoman Caroline Chellis.
“The board of directors and staff look forward to working with Carol as we continue to be the voice of business for our members and enhance the quality of life in the seven communities the chamber serves,” she said.
