The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester has hired Edward Keohane, a former managing producer for the CNN show “American Morning,” as vice chancellor for communications.
In his new position, Keohane will oversee all communications functions for the medical school and its related entities.
At CNN, Keohane covered events including terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India and the inauguration of President Barack Obama. He and his team received a George Foster Peabody Award for their coverage of the 2008 presidential election. Before going to CNN, Keohane was a producer at Boston ABC affiliate WCVB-TV.
He will begin his new position on Jan. 11.
