The Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line will be stopped before Boston the next two weeks because of construction.
On Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17, and again on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, trains will stop at the Wellesley Farms rail station. Commuters can connect with shuttle buses there to Auburndale, West Newton, and Newtonville or toward Back Bay and South Station. Boston Landing and Yawkey Stations will be closed for the duration of these weekend outages.
Crews will be working on tracks in the Brighton area, which the MBTA says will improve the flow of train traffic through the area.
Passengers seeking outbound Framingham/Worcester Line service from South Station and Back Bay or Auburndale, West Newton, and Newtonville may board shuttle buses to Wellesley Farms for the commuter rail connection.
The MBTA said commuters should allow for an additional 20 to 30 minutes of travel time. Bicycles will not be allowed on the buses.
