The Danforth Art Museum at Framingham State University will reopen to its members and the general public this week after being closed since late March due to COVID-19.
“We have spent the past several weeks planning for our reopening by strictly adhering to the safety guidelines put in place by the state. We are excited to offer our patrons a safe and enjoyable experience in our beautiful galleries,” Director and Curator Jessica Roscio said in a press release.
The museum will initially open with limited days and hours of 12 to 5 p.m. from Thursday through Sunday. The museum opened to members only on Thursday and Friday and then to the general public on Saturday.
To control the number of people at the museum, registration will be required via Eventbrite. Safety precautions will be in place, including requiring all patrons to wear face coverings and maintain six feet of social distance within the galleries. Hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the museum and additional spot cleaning of touch services will be done regularly.
The exhibition Family Circle is on view until Aug. 30 with more information available at danforth.framingham.edu.
