Framingham State University named T. Stores as its new dean of the College of Arts & Humanities, replacing Marc Cote, the founding dean of that college.
Stores will take on the position on June 26. They currently serve as the University of Hartford’s associate provost for academic affairs and are a tenured English professor, according to a Thursday press release from FSU.
“I am truly thrilled about the energy and expertise Mx. Stores will bring to the role of dean of arts and humanities, and I look forward to working with them to grow and advance our work in the College,” Kristen Porter-Utley, FSU provost and vice president for academic affairs, said in the press release.
Stores has a master’s degree in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston and expects to complete a doctorate in education this year from University of Hartford.
They helped with the development of effective recruitment and retention practices for faculty members identifying as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) at UHart, according to the press release.
Stores has published four books of fiction with a fifth on the way.
Marc Cote will return to his previous position as a tenured faculty member in the Art and Music Department at FSU.
Stores’ hiring comes after FSU earlier in April named a new dean of graduate and continuing education and a new dean of strategic enrollment management.
