Rave Mobile Safety, a Framingham maker of safety software, has acquired a provider of emergency notification and incident management solutions.
Rave announced the deal Thursday in which it will acquire the New Jersey-based SwiftReach Networks for an undisclosed price. The combined company will serve nearly 5,000 customers, including state and local public safety agencies, education and health care organizations, utilities, federal agencies and corporations.
Rave makes technology that helps public agencies track 911 calls and colleges send out emergency notifications, and provides mobile services such as an app that alerts authorities to active-shooter or other incidents. The company said the acquisition of SwiftReach will help it expand delivery capacity and improve communication technology for K-12 schools.
With SwitftReach, Rave said it's the only emergency and mass-notification provider that owns and operates its own network, which includes four data centers across North America.
