The Framingham Sheraton, a landmark known for its castle-like facade just off the Massachusetts Turnpike, is headed to auction next month.
The 376-room Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center is scheduled to be auctioned off Dec. 15 by the Yarmouth Port auctioneering firm JJ Manning. The eight-acre site includes parking and is zoned for corporate mixed-use.
In the spring, the Sheraton laid off 113 people, coming early in the coronavirus pandemic that has led to major difficulties for many hotels.
The Sheraton was built in 1980, according to city land records. It last sold in 2011 for $27 million and was last assessed by the City of Framingham at $33 million.
The property is owned by a limited liability corporation registered to the property investment firm Mack Real Estate Group of New York.
