Framingham restaurant to remain closed, listed for sale

Beacon Street Bar & Grill, a Framingham restaurant that closed earlier this summer, will not reopen, and the space will be listed for sale.

The restaurant at 2 Beacon St. closed in late June, a decision said then to be temporary. But on Monday, Metrowest Commercial Real State said it has been hired to list the property.

Beacon Street Bar & Grill was formerly the site of Angry Ham's and then Octane Bar & Grill after the restaurant was remodeled and featured on then-Spike TV's Bar Rescue in 2011 before reverting back to Angry Ham's shortly after the episode aired. Years before, the location was home to Captain Bob's Seafood Market.

Metrowest Commercial Real State said the building is permitted for 195 guests as a restaurant, but could be used for an office or medical practice or other uses.

The one-acre site, just off Route 9 between Shopper's World and Framingham State University, sold in 2016 for $2.3 million. The city last assessed it for just under $2.1 million.
