Framingham plant sold in deal

A Framingham-based division of International Paper was included in a deal stemming from the sale of its Pine Bluff mill in Pine Bluff, AK, the Pine Bluff Commercial reports.

International Paper made an announcement last year that it was selling its beverage packaging business for approximately $500 million to Carter Holt Harvey, a New Zealand company.  The Pine Bluff mill will be sold to Carter Holt Harvey's subsidiary, Evergreen Packaging.

Several facilities around the country were contained in the sale of the Pine Bluff mill, including the Framingham location.  International Paper has several company locations throughout the Bay State, including Worcester, Springfield, Lexington, Westfield, Wilmington, and Woburn.
