Framingham manufacturer to make $51M Mexican acquisition, change name

CCL Industries Inc., a label and packaging company with headquarters in Framingham and Ontario, Canada, signed an agreement to acquire a Mexican electronics supplier for $50.7 million, according to a press release from Friday.

Once the acquisition is finalized, CCL will change its name to CCL Design.

The newly acquired company, Desarrollo e Investigacion S.A. de C.V and Fuzetouch PTE LTD, supplies graphic interface control panels to companies across the globe.

CCL’s expansion will allow for new capabilities, including technical screen printing.

The acquisition will consist of asset transactions and is expected to be finalized before the end of the year.

CCL employs more than 22,000 people throughout its 191 production facilities.
