Framingham-based Boston Heart Diagnostics, which makes proprietary tests for the treatment of cardiovascular disease, has received $450,000 in state tax credits and promised to create 35 new jobs this year.
The incentives are from the quasi-public Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, which has awarded incentives to 25 companies throughout the state this year. There are a number of different types of incentives the center offers, including an investment tax credit, a Food and Drug Administration user fees credit and allowances for the extension of net operating losses from 5 to 15 years for tax purposes, among others.
This year’s award is the second for Boston Heart. Last year, it was awarded $220,000 in exchange for a promise to create 31 jobs. It said it exceeded that number, creating 55.
