With 69 single-family home sales in September, Framingham had the second most sales in Central Mass. and the fifth most in the state, according to a Tuesday report from the Warren Group.
Framingham was beaten out by Worcester, which had 119 sales last month. Statewide, Springfield had 144, Brockton had 100, Plymouth had 86, and Framingham came in fifth with 69.
This marked a 19% increase in the city's home sales from last September and a 16.4% year-to-date growth.
The average price of Framingham homes is also spiking with a year-to-date climb of 20.9%. The median sale price in September was $550,000, a 9.7% rise from Sept. 2020. Framingham’s prices are, on average, $41,000 more than the state average, which has been skyrocketing all year.
The city has had a total of 505 sales this year, with 87 in August and 53 in July.
Framingham’s numbers stood out from Massachusetts’ general downward trend over the last three months. Last month, the state’s sales were down 10.4% from last year.
