Framingham-based Cambridge Endo has been granted approval known as a CE mark for a line of instruments used in laparoscopic surgery.
The approval allows surgeons in Europe to use Cambridge Endo’s Autonomy Lapro-Angle articulated laparoscopic instruments. The Autonomy line allows surgeons to perform laparoscopic procedures through a single incision rather than the more normal four to six.
The company says its instruments can drastically reduce patient recovery time.
The CE in CE mark stands for Conformite Europeene and means that a product has met the European Union’s health, safety and environmental standards.
