Framingham firm establishes Middle East connection

GlassHouse Technologies is now offering information technology, server and database services in the Middle East.

This morning, the Framingham-based company announced it had acquired the MBI of Israel and its sister companies MBI Turkey and Integrity Systems.

MBI is the leading storage and data-backup provider in Israel. It established MBI Turkey in 2004, and is a provider for the largest finance, telecommunications and defense organizations in Turkey and the Middle East.

MBI and Integrity Systems will be operated as wholly owned subsidiaries of GlassHouse Technologies. The company now boasts 430 consultants.

According to Mark Shirman, GlassHouse president and CEO, the expansion into Turkey and the Middle East was "the next logical step after establishing our brand in the UK."

The newly-formed GlassHouse Technolgies International Division will be headed by Andy Norman, former managing director of GlassHouse's UK operations.
