Framingham-based Cambridge Endo, a developer and manufacturer of instruments used in laparoscopic surgery, has taken a spot on the Cleveland Clinic‘s list of Top Ten Innovations For 2009, the company said.
The list highlights medical technology expected to have a significant impact during the year.
Cambridge Endo’s Single Port Access Laparoscopic Surgery technology is No. 7 on the clinic’s list. To make it to the list, Cambridge’s technology demonstrated potential for short-term clinical impact and a high probability of success. Cambridge’s laparoscopic technology is also on the market and is backed by sufficient data to earn it a spot on the clinic’s list.
The Cambridge laparoscopic system allows surgeons to perform a variety of surgeries through a single incision in a patient’s navel, rather than through several incisions.
