An online party planning web site has added to its catalog of entertaining services: a reminder of upcoming birthdays.
Framingham-based Punchbowl Software Inc., which raised $2.1 million in venture capital in September for its MyPunchBowl.com web site, helps people plan parties. It takes users step-by-step through the process, allowing them to send electronic invitations, save-the-date notices, choose supplies and communicate with guests including picking a mutually convenient date for everyone. It also allows users to display photos and videos from the event on the web site.
The new birthday reminder lets people sign up using their Facebook accounts, request birthdays from family and friends through e-mails, use Facebook and Twitter to collect birthdays, organize birthdays into groups and share the reminder list with others.
