Framingham developer enters marketing agreement

StatSure, a Framingham-based firm specializing in antibody detection systems for whole-blood testing, has entered a marketing agreement with Inverness Medical Innovations in Waltham.

Under the terms of the agreement, StatSure and Chembio, a Medford, NY-based developer of diagnostic tests for infectious diseases, will give Inverness worldwide marketing rights to Chembio's testing kit for HIV.  The agreement also includes StatSure's so-called "barrel" technology, a small fingerstick system that tests for infectious diseases, and provides results within minutes.

Chembio and StatSure will share equally in the profits relating to the barrel technology.  Past litigation between the two firms has been settled, and will be announced separately.
