Framingham-based Clinical Enterprise, Inc., doing business as empowerDX, announced on Monday its at-home COVID-19 testing kit received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration for children three years and older.
The direct-to-consumer company, owned by Eurofins Scientific of Luxembourg, is the first to receive an emergency use authorization for an at-home nasal test for young children, according to empowerDX. The company launched its FDA-authorized at-home COVID test in the fall to consumers 18 years and older.
The company’s tests are now available without a prescription through the company’s website, Amazon, RiteAid and Uber’s on-demand delivery service.
