Framingham-based Clinical Enterprise, Inc., a Eurofins Scientific company, announced Thursday it has been awarded a U.S. government agreement to expand national COVID-19 testing.
The agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in coordination with the U.S. Department of Defense, will expand testing opportunities in K-8 schools, underserved populations and congregate settings such as homeless shelters. The company has been awarded the agreement to test up to 24.6 million people in the Northeast and South regions, according to a release.
The agreement is one of three government agreements designed to expand COVID-19 testing, for a total cost of $650 million, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Defence. A breakout of the dollar figure for the agreement with Clinical Enterprise was not provided.
