Framingham mobile-phone software company NMS Communications Corp. is blaming weakness in its Asia Pacific business for a continuing loss in the second quarter.
Preliminary results for the quarter show total revenue between $16.7 million and $17.1 million and a net loss per share between $0.17 and $0.18, the company said. During the first quarter of the year, NMS lost $6.2 million on revenues of $19.2 million. It also lost money in 2006 and 2007.
The company said its operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa delivered results in line with its expectations, while difficulties in the Asia Pacific region hurt the bottom line.
NMS said it expects to break even in the second half of the year.
The company said it will officially release the second-quarter results on July 31.
