Marijuana testing company MCR Labs, of Framingham, has opened a location in Allentown, Pa., marking its first expansion outside of Massachusetts, according to a Wednesday announcement.
The Allentown facility will serve the state’s medical marijuana program.
“This is a huge step for us,” said Michael Kahn, MCR Labs’ president and founder, in a statement. “We’re excited to be expanding and excited for the opportunity to carry out our mission of advancing public health and safety here in the Keystone State.”
Business operations will be overseen by General Manager Julia Naccarato.
MCR Labs serves roughly 95% of marijuana producers and providers in Massachusetts, testing anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 samples each month. Last year, the company reported a 38% increase in submitted samples.
