Framingham-based commercial real estate and property management firm Parsons Commercial Group (PCG) has merged with Sperry Van Ness International Corp. (SVNIC), a national commercial brokerage headquartered in Boston.
The newly named SVN/Parsons Commercial Group/Boston is owned and operated by John R. Parsons Jr., CEO and managing director.
“We wanted to align ourselves with an entrepreneurial and recognizable firm,” Parsons said in a statement Wednesday. “We also wanted to work with a firm that had a national platform and encourages collaboration. … The most compelling reason to join SVNIC is the almost 200-plus offices and over 1,300 commercial advisors and staff who are all skilled professionals and anxious to work in a cooperative manner to service our clients.”
PCG said it expects to double its current brokerage staff within the next 12 months and intends to open an additional office in Boston. Through the Sperry network, the firm hopes to add to its offerings and add advisors with expertise in corporate services, golf and resort properties, medical office, and storage facilities. PCG currently provides commercial real estate services that include leasing, investment sales, multi-family acquisitions, and property management and development.
“The affiliation is truly an alignment of interests and values between SVNIC and Parsons Commercial Group,” Kevin Maggiacomo, president and CEO of Sperry Van Ness International, said in the statement. He said that, amid the recent wave of institutionally driven mergers and acquisitions, “we think the market is ripe for an entrepreneurial brand, driven by local ownership with deep roots in the communities in which it serves.
