Dr. Martha Murray, founder of Miach Orthopaedics, Inc., a Westborough firm specializing in bio-engineered surgical implants for connective tissue repair, has been selected for the 2022 Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award.
Dr. Murray received the award Feb. 6 for her research and development on Miach’s BEAR Implant, which is described as the first medical technology to clinically demonstrate that it enables healing of a patient's torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The award is given to outstanding clinical research related directly to musculoskeletal disease or injury, according to Miach’s press release.
Dr. Murray’s work on the BEAR Implant was previously recognized by the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation in 2013 when the organization presented her with the Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughn Award.
