Foundation Makes $506K In Scholarships

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation reported that it has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships this year, with most of the money going to graduating high school seniors in Worcester County.

In all, 357 students received scholarships. Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester had the most scholarship winners with 15. Other schools receiving numerous scholarships included Leicester High School with eight, Boylston's Tahanto Regional High School with seven and Worcester's South High Community School with six.

More than 145 people volunteered to serve on 47 scholarship committees to determine the winners.
