Former Worcester PIP shelter sold to church

The former People in Peril shelter on Main Street in Worcester has found new life as a church after the 41,000-square-foot building was sold for $380,000.

The large building at 695-701 Main St. closed in May 2013. In an email, A. Murray Real Estate, LLC said the building was sold the Church of God of Ebenezer.

The church began in Clinton in 2000 and moved to Worcester in 2009, said A. Murray Real Estate, which represented the church in the sale.

Currently, the church worships just a few doors down at 717 Main St.
