The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has hired Christina M. Andreoli as vice president, a newly-created position the chamber said will free up chamber President Timothy Murray to focus fully on strategy.
Andreoli most recently worked as chief of staff for the City of Worcester’s City Manager and Economic Development offices, where she managed development, planning, cable services and media relations. Andreoli was deeply involved in developing a city-wide housing strategy, the chamber said. She previously worked as director of media relations for Worcester-based Fallon Community Health Plan.
“The Worcester Regional chamber is poised for tremendous growth as we engage our partners in the Recruit, Retain, Incubate strategy. It makes sense to have a number-two person (who can) manage the organization’s administrative needs,” Murray said in a statement.
Andreoli’s hiring was approved by the chamber’s executive committee last week, the chamber said. The executive committee has asked for a restructuring of the chamber’s staffing to better serve its mission, and Murray said a vice president’s position is part of a successful model, and is “commonplace” at chambers of commerce.
