The former R.G. Shakour salon and spa furniture and equipment store in Westborough, which closed in 2017, has sold its land for $3.8 million, giving new owners a key developable property on Route 9.

The store, owned by Jon and Viola Shakour, sold the site to a limited liability corporation registered to Leili and Patricia Towfigh of Medford and Mark Towfiq of Palo Alto, Calif. The sale closed Jan. 19.

The site at 254 Turnpike Road stands on a stretch of Route 9 between a Lowe's home improvement store and the Westmeadow Plaza shopping center, which includes an Ocean State Job Lot and Tractor Supply, among others. The six-acre site was last assessed by the Town of Westborough at $2.1 million.

I'm curious to know what kind of establishment will take its place now that it's been sold.

Shakour's wasn't a furniture store, it was beauty supply store... They did sell beauty equipment for salons, as well.
